Last updated 4 October 2026. This page covers the NEXA Equalizer Chrome extension and this website.

What the extension does

NEXA Equalizer changes how tab audio sounds. It can add reverb, shape five EQ bands, set gain, narrow stereo down to mono, and change playback speed. Pitch follows the speed. Low and high move everything past their frequency. The three bands between them stay on their own frequency.

Turning effects on applies reverb, EQ, gain, and stereo. Speed is remembered for the site you are on and pauses while the equalizer is off.

Audio stays on your device

The extension processes audio inside Chrome. It does not upload audio, video, page text, or your settings to a server. It does not include advertising or analytics.

There is no account and no sign-in.

What is stored on this computer

Chrome’s local storage on your device keeps:

  • Whether effects are on or off
  • Reverb, room, stereo, the five EQ bands, and gain
  • Playback speed for a site, saved by origin only (for example https://www.youtube.com), not the full page address

While the browser is open, the current tab’s speed is also kept in session storage and in memory. That session data is dropped when the session ends. Removing the extension deletes the local data Chrome stored for it.

Permissions

  • Storage — save the settings above on this device.
  • Tabs — see which tab is active so effects and speed apply there.
  • Scripting and access to sites you visit — run on pages, including frames, so speed and effects can reach the page’s audio and video players. The script watches for media elements. It does not read page content in order to send it anywhere.
  • Tab capture — capture the tab’s audio when that path is needed for reverb, EQ, gain, and stereo.
  • Offscreen — keep audio processing running in a background document.

This website

The site is static. It does not use accounts, cookies, or analytics. Pages are served by Firebase Hosting.

If you send feedback, the message and the email you optionally type are saved in Cloud Firestore, in a private feedback collection. They are used only to read what you sent. They are not published on the site and are not sold. You can leave the email blank.
